Chalcan Biodiversity offers a range of events and workshops which provide practical help in how to support and better understand local biodiversity.  Over the last year, these have included:

  • a pond building workshop
  • an introduction to composting
  • bird and bird box making
  • an introduction to no dig gardening
  • how to make Biochar
  • a birdwatching walk for beginners
  • an evening bat walk
  • a moth identification breakfast
We are now busy working on a calendar of events for 2024.  This will include another birdwatching walk for beginners in May, a butterfly/bumblebee identification walk on Blackness Bank in June and a chance to visit Dimmelsdale Reserve to meet the new manager of all the reserves along this section of the Frome Valley, Grove Skyes for a guided walk and a chance to hear about Gloucestershire’s Wildlife Trust’s long-term plans for the area in July.

Look out for confirmation of dates and details soon,

Meanwhile, if you have a good idea for a workshop activity and think we can help, do get in touch.  info@chalcan.org.uk.
