Spring has sprung – we hope that our projects will soon be bursting with biodiversity!
Abnash Bank and Parish Bank, Chalford – volunteers have raked, striated, taken away the “arisings”, sown wildflower seeds – this year look out for even more orchids on Abnash Bank.
St. Mary of the Angels churchyard, Brownshill – surveyed, grant received, volunteers are now clearing it and planting wildflowers.
The Pleasure Ground, France Lynch – in partnership with the Parish Council we’re going to leave a small area unmown this summer to see how many flowers emerge. Watch this space…..
Name the spinney – put the new woodland on the map
Would you like to be the person/family who name the small wood we’ve planted on Middle Hilll? The successful name will be inscribed on a board and there will be a small ceremony. More details on the ChalCAN website.
Workshops -we’re hoping to run some small, outdoor workshops this summer, Covid permitting – making compost, wildlife gardens, dawn chorus walk, butterflies and moths…
Roadside verges – we’re in early consultation with the Parish Council as they are hoping to manage the verges more sympathetically this year so as to improve biodiversity.
